Role Overview
We’re looking for a highly motivated Workday Business Analyst with experience in a service approach. This role will be focused on our Workday HCM/Payroll. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of HR Technology, ensuring compliance, scalability, and operational excellence. You’ll collaborate and gather requirements with cross-functional COEs - HR (Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Operations, Learning, Performance, PBP) to deliver innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy. This is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, leads through influence, and is passionate about technology and process optimization.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with HR and IT teams to gather, document, and validate business requirements for enhancements and new functionality in Workday.
- Oversee end-to-end system maintenance, including release management, testing and requirements gathering of new features
- Build Workday reports to support our COE’s
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and consistency of employee data across Workday and connected systems
- Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements and collaborate with technical teams for development and implementation
- Establish and maintain user role assignments, access controls, and system security protocols in compliance with corporate policies and applicable regulations
- Develop comprehensive user guides, SOPs, and train our COE’s as needed
- Serve as the primary point of contact for system-related issues and troubleshoot system problems.
- Troubleshoot HR and Payroll issues and provide proactive solutions for a smooth system experience.
- Design and execute test scripts for system upgrades, new features, and integrations with payroll, benefits, and compensation.
- Partner with all aspects of the People Team to evaluate and enhance HRIS processes for efficiency and user satisfaction.
What You’ll Bring
- 1-2 years of experience as a Business Analyst or HRIS Analyst with a focus on Workday.
- Hands-on experience with one or more Workday modules: HCM, Talent, Compensation, Absence, or Security.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience supporting Workday in a large enterprise or global environment.
- Understanding of change management, testing methodologies (UAT), and release management.
- Functional HR Knowledge with one or more COE’s
- Process Improvement: Proven experience applying HR principles within an HRIS environment to develop, maintain, and improve processes for greater efficiency and performance

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: The targeted base salary pay range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
